Review: Beauty-Full by Triumph

I discovered on my recent visit to their pop-up shop that Triumph recently launched their Beauty-Full range for DD+ cup sizes (see right). Specifically engineered to provide comfort and support with style for larger cup sizes, this was definitely a range I needed to try out. Despite all the gorgeous lace and embroidery on show, I couldn’t resist the basic bra and so tried it on in a 32F when I got fitted at Maison Triumph. I also couldn’t resist buying it, so this review is unusually based on something I paid full price for! The set I purchased comprises a lightly padded balcony style bra and matching hipster briefs, but there is also a plunge bra, briefs and thong available in the same fabrics. There is a pretty stretch geometric lace overlay to the bra, with a matching inset on the briefs, and the soft microfibre used on the remainder of the briefs is so tactile that you won’t be able to keep your hands off yourself!

The bra has wonderfully wide straps that are fully adjustable, and the sides are broad and supportive. The ‘3D’ wires in this range are engineered for a better fit too, which made a bit more sense once I’d read Lyzzy’s recent post on underwires for The Lingerie Addict. Clearly Triumph have paid a lot of attention to comfort and fit at the design stage. They’ve done that in some surprising ways too. The bulky lingerie labels with fibre content and washing instructions on them always scratch my back and so I often end up trying to cut them out – carefully without accidentally snipping a seam! I was pleased to discover that these labels are designed to be easily cut out of Triumph lingerie. Just a small thing, but it made the set even more comfortable.

The fit was mostly good, with a couple of minor niggles. Although my breasts don’t quite sit right at the bottom of the cups, this did’t spoil the look or feel of the bra. However, the wires are a little too wide and high in the middle for me, and you can see from the photo on the right that my cleavage looks a teeny bit distorted by this. This would only really be a problem with low cut tops though, which I wouldn’t be wearing with such a full cup bra! My main concern on wearing this bra all day was a) would it show under clingy tops, and b) would it be comfortable all day? I’m pleased to say that I was extremely impressed on both counts. Despite the low rise of the briefs I purchased, these were extremely comfortable too and they didn’t dig in to my belly at all.

Overall, I’m very impressed with this set and will probably be checking out some more styles from the Beauty-Full range soon. However, I do wish they’d use larger models in the photos of this range on their site. I’m so used to the models used by likes of Curvy Kate, Cleo, Bravissimo, Masquerade and Tutti Rouge that I almost didn’t spot this was a large-cup line! What do you think of the new Beauty-Full range from Triumph?
